Reality television watchers might be wondering what will happen to Jon and Kate Gosselin's eight kids now that the couple is divorced. But even after a child custody agreement has been reached, the public may still never know the exact details of the settlement between Jon and Kate Gosselin.
The couple became famous for the TLC show Jon & Kate Plus 8, which featured the lives of the parents raising their eight children. After a dramatic divorce, New York Post reports that Jon Gosselin filed for primary custody of the couple's twins and sextuplets last April after Kate had already been temporarily granted primary custody of the children. Jon also requested to renegotiate his $20,000 a month payments in child support and spousal support.
According to New York Post, the Gosselins recently reached a "super-secret deal" that involves the custodial and financial matters of their settlement. The settlement has been sealed by the Pennsylvania court, where family lawyers have so far declined to talk about the agreement between the "Jon & Kate Plus Eight" stars.
Many people involved in a child custody dispute might wonder what factors influence child custody decisions. According to FindLaw, a judge's main consideration when deciding on which parent gets custody is what's in the child's "best interest." Yet child custody is usually an issue that is determined through an out-of-court agreement that can be arranged with help from Phoenix family lawyers, counselors, or mediators.
